Bob Hoskins
A Life of Obedience. A Legacy of Hope
Bob Hoskins is the founder of OneHope, a global ministry driven by a singular mission: to affect destiny by providing God’s eternal Word to all the children and youth of the world.
A Ministry That Began in Childhood
Bob began his ministry journey as a child evangelist at the age of seven in 1943. He was widely dubbed “Little Bobby the Boy Preacher,” “Miracle Boy Preacher,” and “Wonder Boy Preacher” by promoters and the press as he traveled all across the U.S.
Bob’s early ministry planted a lifelong conviction: God can use anyone who obeys. That conviction set the stage for much of what would follow.
Publishing and the Power of the Word
Upon returning to the U.S. in 1980, Bob became President of Life Publishers International. He observed how Scripture and media could advance the Gospel and began envisioning something far larger.
Reaching the 2 Billionth Child
In 2023, OneHope celebrated a historic milestone as the 2 billionth child received God’s Word through one of its programs in El Salvador, the same nation where the very first Book of Hope was distributed more than three decades earlier. It was a full-circle moment that marked not an ending, but a new beginning for the vision God entrusted to Bob Hoskins. Each number represents a name, a child, a life transformed by the Gospel, and a renewed reminder that God’s Word continues to go forth, bringing hope and light to every corner of the world.
An Ongoing Legacy
Bob Hoskins’ lifelong obedience to God’s call has shaped not only his personal ministry but the global vision of OneHope. What began through his faith and surrender has grown into a movement committed to ensuring every child and youth has the opportunity to know Jesus through His Word. Today, OneHope continues to build on that legacy with a bold new vision: to reach 2 billion more children and youth with God’s Word by 2033, while equipping the global Church to biblically disciple the next generation and develop Spirit-led leaders around the world. The mission that began in Bob’s heart remains alive today, carrying forward the same devotion to God’s Kingdom and the same conviction that Jesus, through His Word, transforms lives, families, and nations.
A Global Vision Comes to Life: OneHope
In 1987, following a vision from God, he launched Book of Hope International, now known as OneHope. Partnering with churches, schools, governments, and ministry leaders, OneHope develops Scripture engagement programs that help children and youth understand God’s Word and discover a personal relationship with Christ. What began as a calling to share Scripture with every child and youth around the world grew into a global movement spanning nations and generations.
Global Missionary
In 1953, at the age of 17, Bob responded to a supernatural prompting that led him to what was then British Guiana (now Guyana). Within weeks, a revival broke out, and within six weeks, he preached to 30,000 people daily in a stadium and helped establish an Assemblies of God church movement in the country.
Continuing on mission across Africa and Asia, Bob eventually entered the Middle East in the early 1970s. He and his wife Hazel established a base in Beirut, Lebanon, to serve the Muslim world. Bob innovated a “cassette church” model, distributing audio sermons in Arabic to over 400,000 listeners across 26 countries.
